Lauren Miller

Biography:

Lauren is an activist, published poet, artist, and mathematician.

Lauren is faculty coordinator for the college prep program at the St. Louis County Jail at Saint Louis University. She also works closely and is an adjunct for the Prison Education Program through Washington University. She is the faculty advisor for the Inside-Out Alliance student organization at SLU.

She has experience teaching developmental algebra through calculus III, statistics, and mathematics for education majors.

Over the summers she adjuncts at for the Chinese Undergraduate Summer School Association (CUSSA). In 2019 she taught at Shanghai Normal University in Shanghai, China.

She received her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI in 2015. In 2017 she received her Master's in Mathematics from Saint Louis University. She completed her Ed. D in collaborative high impact instruction from Fontbonne University in May of 2021.

 Lauren participated in Google Summer of Code 2016 and 2017. Her work through this program is in the blog archives.

 In her free time she works on her blog, her YouTube channel, TikTok @MillieMathProf, and gives talks about on various topics in mathematics

Her deepest passion is sharing her love of mathematics with others. 

She dreams to one day give a TED talk.
