About Me

I grew up in San Francisco, and went to Lowell High. I did math and computer science at Berkeley, then went to U. of Chicago for my PhD in math.

I met my wife Elissa in Chicago. She taught special education for many years and is now a school psychologist. We spent two years living in Brooklyn, while I was working at the CUNY Graduate Center, then moved to St. Louis in the Fall of 2000. Our son Benjamin was born in 2002, our daughter Rebecca was born in 2006.

Elissa maintains the world's premiere Goat Allergy page.

Here's something personal: Analysis of my iTunes listening habits. The time of day graph is particularly telling.
