My name is Virginia and I teach at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in NYC. We're part of the state university system, and our motto should be "We ain't just arts and crafts." Sure, we have the Project-Runway-Fashionista majors in the School of Art and Design, but we also have students that major in merchandising, buying, marketing, advertising, and managing in the School of Business and Technology.

We offer many sections of "Geometry and the Art of Design," which I have yet to teach. I will be teaching a liberal arts math course in the fall, and hope to incorporate some of what we'll do here into that course. I'm also interested in the technology side of this course, as I will be taking over a colleague's online course in the spring.

On a more personal note, I live in Manhattan, have a cat named Louie, and enjoy knitting and cooking. I have a BA in math and an MA in Math Ed--still hoping to finish that dissertation someday! I taught high school math for 8 years prior to coming to FIT.
