Hi Anneke - Just a note that I'm using people's "User talk" pages to welcome them once they create their personal User page. The server generates a notification email whenever someone's talk page is modified. Except it might not work for you, unless you check your preferences to make sure your email address is entered into the server.Bryan 04:54, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi, In response to your question about what we teach in high school geometry - New York is going back to an Algebra-Geometry-Trig sequence after about 9 years of their Math A-Math B sequence. Math A and Math B were a jumble of different Algebra, Geometry, and Trig topics combined all together. Students would complete both in 3 or 4 years, although the Math B part was optional.

This year's freshman were the first cohort in the new Algebra class, and they will be the first to take Geometry next year. Here is the draft curriculum we will use next year. The topics are all there but the order and pacing is still a work in progress. I have a lot of flexibility in how I teach the topics, as long as I cover everything.

On another topic - is this the right place to respond to questions like this, or should I post this on the main discussion page? I didn't see any specific area on that page for student discussions. I haven't used these Wiki forums before and I'm still figuring it all out.
