Developing Freize Patterns

From Prep08Wiki

In this worksheet, I want the students to move from the types of symmetry (rotational, reflective, glide,...) to the Frieze patterns. Ideally what I would do is have them look at several examples of Frieze patterns (but not all) and try to describe them to each other - how does one foot become the pattern?

(will insert link to the feet page here)

Then I will give them a shape to become their building block for the Frieze Patterns. Can they make the patterns that they described above? What other patterns could they make?
