The department mission, guided by the Jesuit character of the University and the liberal arts character of the College, provides students with exercise and growth in moral and intellectual habits so they may fulfill their respective vocations in life and be intelligent, ethical, and useful members of society. The faculty form a community of scholars whose research enriches their teaching and contributes to the solution of human problems.

  • Saint Louis University is proud to host the Gateway Math Alliance Inaugural Meeting Saturday September 22nd, 2018 from 10am to 3pm Center for Global Citizenship Auditorium The Math Alliance is a mentor network dedicated to increasing the number of Mathematical Science Ph.D.'s from underrepresented groups.  We invite all interested faculty to join us as we begin a regional partnership in the greater St. Louis area. Joining us will be founder of the Math Alliance Phil Kutzko from University of Iowa as well as Renato Feres fro Washington University in St. Louis who will present a talk entitled "Geometry in (Very) High Dimensions".
